There are people who come into our lives not by blood, but by heart — and “Baba”Jenny was exactly that. A neighbour by address, but truly our grandmother, our friend, and a beautiful part of our family.
Her kindness was quiet but constant — always knowing when to show up with a smile, a helping hand, or a cheeky joke that made even the hardest days feel lighter. She had a gift for making others feel seen, especially my children. She played, she listened, she gently guided — and in doing so, became woven into their memories and their hearts.
She had a sense of humour that made us laugh when we needed it most, and a wisdom that came not just from years, but from how deeply she cared for people. Whether it was a warm wave from the window, an impromptu chat at the gate, or a shared cup of tea, she had a way of making ordinary moments special.
She didn’t have to love us the way she did. But she chose to — fully, generously, and without hesitation. And that choice has left a mark on our lives that we will carry with gratitude, always.
We’ll miss her dearly — her warmth, her laughter, her constant presence. But we will remember her with joy, and with deep appreciation for the gift it was to know her.
Rest gently, Baba Jenny You were, and always will be, part of our family.
