  1. To our dearest friend Sambo, who showed us all the best a man can do for all his family and friends.
We remember the first time we met in the Allawah Hotel,Vicki wanted to get our approval,so of course we said he’s great fun,and what stories we could tell from then on.
We became lifelong friends and we were so privileged you shared so many trips to Currumbin, boxing day at 2pm when you guys arrived was the highlight of our year.
Sam we will keep all the kids and Vic in our lives and will take special care of them for you.
    RIP Sambo

  2. Sam,Sam,Sam ….. what have you done to us ? Was it something I said ! 🤣
Mate ever since we met and you gave me a job 27 years ago we’ve been good friends.
Wish we had a few more bike rides for the bucket list, we are all going to miss you a lot.
Thank you for your friendship mate.

  3. In Memory of Cousin Sam Bouzounis
Dear Vicki, Mitchell, Zach, Blake, and Sienna:
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about Cousin Sam’s untimely passing. Words cannot fully express the sadness I feel, and I cannot even imagine the deep pain and grief you all are experiencing right now as a result of the loss of your loving and amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
Cousin Sam aka “Sambo”was a kind, warm, and generous soul whose presence brightened every gathering. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the lives of so many people he touched, including me!
When I knew I was going to meet all of the Bouzounis Family in Sydney in 1998 my heart and mind were full of hope and anticipation! Hope that I would be welcomed and the anticipation that I would have a relationship with my far away Bouzounis relatives that I was meeting for the first time! My hopes were exceeded and my anticipation was melted away by the warmth and love everyone enthusiastically bestowed upon me. I was so happy and grateful to meet everyone. It was simply a wonderful experience that I will never forget. I couldn’t believe how much Grandpa Bouzounis looked like my dad and Uncle Chris in Ohio.
I was so fortunate that you all brought me to the annual Greek picnic in the park where I met several people who remembered my Papou Theodore and Yiayia Costandina before they left Levidi for Canada! (I am named after my Yiayia who was the best Yiayia to me even though she was handicapped and in a wheelchair due to contracting polio in the 1950s.)
I remember bringing a bottle of brandy from my visit to the Barossa Valley to take back to America as a gift. My last night in Australia you all insisted I cancel my hotel and stay with you. I could not have been happier! Sam and I decided to crack open that bottle of brandy and we drank the whole thing as we talked about so many things late into the night. That night brought us close together and was the beginning of a bond that will never ever be broken.
I must admit the long trip home was a little bit shaky but I was proud that I went drink for drink with my tough Aussie cousin!
As I got in the car to head to the airport I remember Blake hanging on my leg asking me to stay, believe me I wish I could have as I didn’t want to leave either!
When you came to San Diego I was so happy to see you again! I hoped that our relationship would continue to grow and it did. I am hopeful that even in Sam’s absence this relationship will continue.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this incredibly difficult time and forever after.
If there is anything at all that I can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I would like to honor Sam’s memory by making a donation in his memory to his favorite charity or to your church, so please let me know what is appropriate when you can so I can do something appropriate.
I hope that in time, the cherished memories you all shared with Sam will bring comfort and peace to your broken hearts. Even though Sam is physically gone from us his soul will never leave us. His faith in God bestowed an everlasting life upon him. He is watching over us all in heaven as our guardian angel as he sits at the right hand of the holy father waiting for all of us to join him in paradise!
May Sam’s memory be eternal! Zoe Se Mas! ☦️
With my deepest sympathy and much love,
    Cousin Constantine “Dino” Buzunis

  4. Sambo. Very sad to lose one of the greats. Many laughs over the years. Who can forget when we (your were the driver ) stole a taxi and drove to kings cross for even more beer …and the famous Guido impersonations …. Know you adored your family. Fond memories of overseas work trips. RiP

  5. Vale Sambo, a workmate and a great friend. Generous to a fault, you were great company.
I’ll miss not having you around on future rides we could have had, waiting around for you to catch up, and laughing over dinner and drinks in the evenings at each overnight destination.
My deepest condolences to Vicki, Blake, Mitch, Zac and Sienna.
Rest easy Big Fella, you will be sorely missed.

  7. Vicki & Maria & family’s
I couldn’t believe the news of Sam’s passing Marlene & I are travelling in UK and sorry we can’t be at Sam’s celebration of life
I met Sam through work and the QF rugby club and for many years enjoyed great friendship Boundso you and myself were like the three musketeers
We trained hard and played hard and then we meet our partners and because of work & family commitments we went in different directions but whenever we met up you always had that cheeky smile and that I will never forget memory’s will last forever
    RIP Sambo

  8. Sam, you were a great colleague with the best smile and laugh, you were never fazed. Deepest condolences to all your family and friends.
    RIP

  9. I remember rocking up to Sydney Airport back in 2013, ready to fly economy for a work trip to Germany, Sam had a massive grin on his face and said Matty’O’ I know someone! , we are flying business class!! We sat up in business class sipping on scotch like two cheshire cats!
We beat Germany in a game of darts, we hi-jacked the PA system in a famous castle and Played guitar and sang all night! That was the start of a wonderful freindship, I left the same business not long after that and since being back over the last three years Sambo was a wonderful friend and mentor and will be missed and I will continue to take his advice through the rest of my career , thinking of Sams family today, he will be missed and one person I know that generally cared about everyone and always will a smile on his face.

  11. Condolences to the family.
Sam, it was a pleasure to have known you. I will miss those big dimples and cheeky smile imprinted in my memory forever.

The last message I received from you on what’s app from Fiji with your family said “Good job Linds 👍 “ after you had asked me to attend to a lead.
This simple text as your last to me I will cherish. Still working on your trip away!

A huge contribution to our Harvey Norman Commercial work family and a man who so many aspired to be like and led with good work ethic and morals. We will continue to do you proud.

Many work trips and shenanigans hold great memories in my heart.
You will be missed Sambo xx
    Love,
    Lindsay Goudie
