  1. To speak of Evangelia is to speak of kindness in its purest form. She was a woman whose generosity knew no limits, whose thoughtfulness touched every person she met. She gave of herself freely, without expecting anything in return, and in doing so, she left an imprint on all of our hearts.
As a mother-in-law, Evangelia was nothing short of a blessing. She embraced me not just as family by marriage, but as family by heart. She had a way of making you feel seen, valued, and deeply cared for. Her warmth was like a light that drew people in, and her presence always brought comfort and reassurance.
She gave her time, her energy, and her love so freely — in every meal cooked, every helping hand extended, every quiet word of encouragement. She taught us the beauty of patience, the strength in compassion, and the joy of giving.
Evangelia’s life was a testament to what it means to live for others. She never sought the spotlight, but her actions spoke volumes. She was a safe place in this world — a constant source of love, wisdom, and unwavering support.
While we feel the ache of her absence, we also carry with us the gift of her example. Her legacy lives on in the kindness we show, the generosity we extend, and the love we share.
Evangelia Papageorgiou was more than a mother-in-law. She was a guiding light, a true friend, and an irreplaceable part of our family. And though she is no longer here with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us for the rest of our lives.
Rest in peace, dear Evangelia. We will love you always.

  2. Our mum, Evagelia, was a special soul. Pure of heart and spirit, generously giving of her time, love, care and absolute devotion to all whom she loved-and she loved deeply, unconditionally, genuinely!
She delighted in gathering her family members close and nurturing them with her exquisite dishes, peppered with copious amounts of love and care.
    Unassuming, down to earth, real!
Her only pride was seeing her children and grandchildren thrive and be well.
Intelligent, curious, brave, strong, incredibly resilient and so so intuitive! She read everyone’s aura and enveloped us with a light so warm and healing that made everything ok!
Mum, my shattered world will never be the same again for even when time passes and your memory becomes the balm for my wounded heart, the pieces will never be in the same way again.
Words cannot express the piercing pain in my heart of not feeling your caress , having your sound advice, hearing your hearty laugh, witnessing your delight in every new flower petal in your garden and the way your face lit up each and every time one of us came to your door!
I hold on to the echo of your presence, the spark of your light, your crystalline laugh, your bright guiding spirit that will continue to envelop us and protect us.
    You are everywhere.
You were love incarnate, personified, omnipresent, ubiquitous, boundless…
Rest in peace my beautiful, beloved mother!
Fly high kυρά-Βαγγελιώ and when you reach heaven send us a sign!

  3. Yiayia Lia was the most caring, loving grandmother one could ask for. I will forever be grateful for the love and support she gave me all throughout my life. From the early years, picking me up from primary school, all through my adult life. I will never forget all the acts of service she did for us. She was always full of love and kindness, also incredibly smart and intuitive and was willing to support everyone around her in every way she could all throughout her life. We’re all very lucky to have been in her presence. I truly enjoyed her company and I will miss her dearly. She brought us all closer as a family with her hospitality and this will be a huge loss for us to comprehend. Her legacy will be memorialized and we will carry her legacy of love and compassion in our lives going forward.

Rest in peace Yiayia. You will always be in my thoughts.

  4. Evagelia Papageorgiou was a really wonderful person who was always very caring, nurturing, and extremely warm and loving to everyone, particularly her family.

I was very honoured to have her as my mother-in-law, to be able to have a fantastic relationship with her and be able to talk to her about life’s worries or joys.

Her encouragement and good advice was always on point, practical and always made me feel better.

I always looked forward to my visits with her and our wonderful chats over a coffee and her delicious biscuits.

She was a brilliant wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.

She was the most selfless person I know and always wanted to make sure that everyone was happy.

I will truly miss her immensely, her company, her advice and mostly special family times together.

God bless her and may she rest in peace.

  5. I am forever grateful and fortunate to have had Yiayia Lia. A source of unconditional love, strength, resilience and endless support. She had a way of making everyone feel safe and valued through her advice, the meals she prepared and always putting others before herself.

Even in her final days, when she had every reason to focus on herself, she asked how everyone else was and tried to help in any way she could. That was just who she was – selfless to the very end, always putting others first. Her love never wavered.

Yiayia Lia always cared for me and raised me with so much love. I always felt safe, cherished, and truly enjoyed every moment spent with her. I will miss her immensely and she will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace Yiayia. We will always love you.

  6. Mum, you were my first home, my first friend, my first teacher, and my forever hero.

From the moment I opened my eyes, you were there holding me, guiding me, and loving me with a depth that I could never put into words.

You didn’t just raise me you shaped the very core of who I am. You taught me how to be strong without losing tenderness, how to be humble without losing pride, and how to give without ever keeping score.

Your love wasn’t loud or showy it was steady, constant, and fierce. It was in the meals you cooked when you were tired, the advice you gave when I didn’t want to hear it, and the way you always saw the best in me, even when I couldn’t see it myself.

Now, without you here, I feel deep sorrow that will never truly leave me. But I will carry you with me every step forward. Your voice will be my conscience, your kindness will be my compass, and your love will be my strength.

I am proud so proud to be your son. And though my heart is broken, I take comfort in knowing that your spirit, your laughter, and your love will live on in me forever.

Rest peacefully, Mum. You were my greatest blessing, and I will love you for all my days.
