  1. Peter.
you used to cut my hair when I was 10 years old.
now I’m 53. you loved what you did and made many a lifelong friendship.
    RIP old friend.
    David

  2. Peter was a beautiful man, a beloved community spirit, and the very definition of a true Australian. He looked after three generations of my family, and always had time for a chat. He often encouraged me, telling me that my late grandfather, a long time customer, would be proud of who I grew up to be. Peter will be sorely missed by all that he knew and cherished.

On behalf of the Munns and Skinner family.

  3. Peter you are trully a legend in our community. You touched all who knew you in your special way, a true gentleman who was always up for a little chat. You will be missed and always remembered for being the lovely man that you are….
On behalf of kelly , Roger and our family

  4. Peter was an amazing person and hairdresser. He remembered every one’s name and was warm and friendly to everyone. Sadly missed.
    LOVE YOU MATE

  5. Peter was a gentleman who welcomed everyone into his shop and offered his customers tea, coffee and biscuits. A beautiful man full of love and wisdom. He would go out of his way to help his customers. If you ever had a problem, Peter would always offer his thoughts and a solution, then ask you about it on the following visit. You will be missed Peter. R.I.P.

  6. Peter ,, you had a truly positive impact on our community , and you will be truly missed by many.
The world is no doubt a lesser place now without you in it.

    R.I.P ,, Peter ✝️

  7. Peter was an amazing Panania personality and will be dearly missed. He cut the hair of four generations of our family and loved talking cars. I will miss seeing you around Panania my friend.

  8. I have lived in Panania for all of my life. My father, brothers and son all had the Pete haircut special over the years. I just loved giving him a wave at the door and a Hello Pete, always to be met with that welcoming smile…
That barber shop will forever be Pete’s place…. I’ll continue the think of that true gentleman everytime I walk past 🩵

  9. Peter first cut my hair at his East Hills barber shop back in 1974 when I was 5. Since that time I had my hair cut by Peter for the next 47 years up until the COVID lockdown. I moved out of Sydney in 2019 but like many people, would travel to Sydney just to get a haircut from Peter.
Every time I met Peter for my haircut we talked about our families and developed a good friendship. His genuine interest in the lives of his customers was always one of his greatest qualities. My dad also had his hair cut by Peter up until his passing in 1999. Peter and dad would often stop for a drink together at the Picnic Point Bowling Club on Friday evenings.
When my mate Paul and I went to De La Salle, Peter stopped us one day and asked us to keep an eye on his son Andrew who was also starting.
Peter was one of the finest gentleman I have ever met. He was a Panania Legend and I will greatly miss knowing him and talking to him. The COVID lockdowns robbed me of being able to continue with Peter but I never stopped hoping to get my hair done by him again. Now I’ll have to wait until we meet again in heaven where I will seek him out for a chat and a haircut.
I was hoping to attend Peter’s service but I had to have surgery earlier in the week.
To Peter’s family, thank you for allowing your wonderful husband, father and grandfather to be part of our lives. He will be greatly missed.

  10. Peter was a pillar of the Panania and East Hills communities. He appeared to know anyone and everyone, with his trademark wave, smile and greeting.
A haircut at Peter’s salon was like no other; he made a routine “chore” something to look forward to. He knew all his customers by name, took an interest in them as a person, and made everyone feel special. We had a common interest in 1960s Holdens, which strengthened our bond further, and we often caught up at the Kelso Park charity car shows. My late father also went there, and he always walked out with a smile on his face. Peter was clearly proud of his salon, and he adored his clientele. It seemed that hairdressing was a hobby rather than a job, and that people were his passion; they were his life.
I’m aware that that Peter also gave his time and energy to one of the local service clubs, and he did so gladly and enthusiastically.
Peter, you were a gentleman and a beautiful soul. My life as a Revesby resident was enriched by you being a part of it. You will be sorely missed in the Panania/Picnic Point precinct mate. Thanks for the fond memories, and the happiness that you gave to so many people; the numerous testimonies here attest to that.

  11. What a shock! I only saw Peter once since his retirement and was totally floored to find out today that he was gone. Peter was 2 months younger than me and I have no memory of where I used to get my haircuts before I went to Peter after he shifted from East Hills to Panania.
We used to discuss all sorts of things in the barber’s chair, from his childhood in his birthplace to his Holden and Ford and all things between. He retired once, couldn’t hack it and came back – his job was truly his hobby, what an enormous pity that he was unable to enjoy his second retirement.
    Vale Peter, RIP
